WARDOGS Factions: LONESTAR, VALKYRA and MANTICORE

Learn the team names and colors, then choose the equipment and squad job that help your side control the objective.

QUICK ANSWER

The current answer

WARDOGS has three factions: blue LONESTAR, red VALKYRA and green MANTICORE. They compete in a three-team combined-arms match. Faction identity is separate from your battlefield role: you can help through infantry combat, medical support, building, logistics or transport rather than treating each faction as a fixed character class.

The three teams and their identities

These identities describe the game’s fictional setting. They are not a verified table of weapon damage bonuses, movement speeds or exclusive equipment. Do not assume that a name, color or uniform grants a mechanical advantage that is absent from the current game information.

The battlefield is set in Kolchia, with the conflict connected to the resource PV1. Use faction names to communicate which team is applying pressure, while relying on the live map and friendly markers for actual identification. Visual recognition alone becomes less reliable at range or in a chaotic fight.

What changes when there are two enemy teams

A two-team habit is to focus every player on the same front. WARDOGS adds another opposing faction, so a successful push against one enemy can expose a flank to the other. Recheck the map when pressure suddenly drops; it may mean the fight has shifted rather than ended.

The main objective is team presence in the Control Zone. Players in the smaller Hot Zone count double under the published rules, and the first team to reach 100 points wins. Kills can clear space, but pursuing an enemy beyond the useful objective area can leave your team with fewer bodies where scoring happens.

The game describes 100-player battles across three teams. That does not establish a fixed player count on each side at every moment; connection state, server population and team-assignment rules belong to the current match interface.

Choose a job inside the faction

A faction is your side in the match. A role is what you do for that side with the equipment, budget and coordination available. The design emphasizes player-defined roles rather than treating these three factions as three locked combat classes.

A useful first decision is to fill a gap in the squad. If players cannot reach the objective, transport helps. If a position is collapsing because everyone runs out of supplies, another distant rifle may contribute less than a support run. Keep your initial purchase small enough that you can replace it after a mistake.

Playing on the same side as friends

  1. Agree on the server and client version first. Being in the same Steam friends list does not prove that everyone joined the same match.
  2. Check the current team and squad menus after joining. Use the faction name as well as the color so that a callout is unambiguous.
  3. Confirm any team-selection or balance restrictions in that session. This guide does not promise unrestricted switching or a permanent faction choice.
  4. Once grouped, agree on a spawn and one first objective. Assign transport or support before several players independently buy gear for the same job.
  5. Reconfirm the team and squad after reconnecting or changing servers. Do not assume that a previous match’s assignment carries into the next one.

What faction choice does not establish

There is no verified faction-tier ranking here. Ranking LONESTAR above VALKYRA or MANTICORE would need evidence of a relevant rules difference or a defined performance dataset; team color and setting lore do not supply either.

Likewise, a faction identity does not establish exclusive weapon access, permanent progression penalties for changing sides, or a cross-server allegiance system. Read those rules in the current client if they become part of a later build.

For a first match, prioritize staying with the squad, using affordable equipment and contributing inside the objective. Those decisions remain useful regardless of which faction the session assigns.

Direct answers

Frequently asked questions

What are the WARDOGS faction colors?

LONESTAR is blue, VALKYRA is red and MANTICORE is green. Confirm your own team and friendly markers in the current match.

Which WARDOGS faction is best?

No verified faction-specific advantage establishes a best faction here. Team coordination, objective presence and equipment choices are more useful starting decisions.

Are WARDOGS factions the same as classes?

No. Factions are the three teams; roles describe how a player contributes through combat, support, logistics, building or transport.

Can I switch factions freely?

This guide does not guarantee unrestricted switching. Check the current server’s team-selection and balancing rules before planning around a switch.
