WARDOGS System Requirements: Can Your PC Run It?

Compare the Windows PC specification tiers, identify your hardware, and understand the resolution and frame-rate targets before changing graphics settings.

QUICK ANSWER

The current answer

WARDOGS requires a 64-bit Windows PC, 16 GB RAM, a broadband connection and 50 GB of available storage. The minimum GPU tier is GTX 1660 or RX 590; the recommended tier is RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT. The minimum 1080p/60 target uses upscaling, so it is not a promise of native 1080p performance.

Minimum and recommended PC specifications

Start by comparing the complete system, not just the graphics-card name. A machine can meet the GPU tier and still fall short on processor, memory or available disk space. The two tiers describe different visual targets, so a recommended-spec PC is not a guarantee of maximum settings.

These are the Windows requirements published for the scheduled September 10 Early Access release. Beta performance and future patches can differ from these targets.

Find your CPU, GPU, memory and free space

  1. Open Windows Settings → System → About. Record the full processor name, installed RAM and system type. Keep the model suffix; similar product names can describe different hardware.
  2. Open Task Manager → Performance and inspect the GPU entries. On a laptop, distinguish the integrated GPU from the dedicated graphics device. Record both if you are unsure which the game uses.
  3. Open File Explorer → This PC and check free space on the drive that contains your Steam library. Total drive capacity is not the same as available space.
  4. Compare each item against the table. Mark unknown components for a proper hardware comparison instead of assuming that a newer number or a laptop variant is equivalent.
  5. After installation, make a short baseline run and change one graphics option at a time. Use the settings guide for tuning once the hardware check is complete.

Upscaled and native targets mean different workloads

Native rendering draws the scene at the selected output resolution. Upscaling starts from a lower internal resolution and reconstructs a larger image. A 1080p output label therefore does not tell you how many pixels the GPU rendered internally.

For the minimum tier, begin with the stated Low/upscaled target. For the recommended tier, the published alternatives are 1440p Medium native or 4K Medium upscaled. Do not turn either into a claim of native 4K at 60 FPS.

Use a repeatable test area first, then check a populated match. Busy objectives, destruction and vehicles can be a heavier workload than an empty range. A good range result is useful, but it is not a worst-case multiplayer benchmark.

50 GB storage is not a 50 GB download

The listed 50 GB is available disk capacity for installation. Download size, temporary patching space and the final installed folder can differ. Check the actual Steam download and disk-space prompts rather than reserving exactly the advertised figure.

The WARDOGS Playtest and the main Early Access game are separate Steam entries. Keeping both installed can consume additional space. Do not delete a working test installation solely because a release-date guide predicts a preload.

Windows requirements do not certify other platforms

Linux and SteamOS compatibility depends on more than these CPU and GPU requirements. The current Linux support position does not guarantee Proton compatibility for September 10. Steam Deck also needs working input, readable UI and stable performance in addition to successful launch.

A PS5 or Xbox release date remains unannounced. Console performance cannot be derived from this PC table.

Direct answers

Frequently asked questions

Does WARDOGS need 32 GB of RAM?

Both published specification tiers list 16 GB RAM. The requirements do not establish 32 GB as mandatory.

Can a GTX 1660 run WARDOGS?

The GTX 1660 is the listed minimum NVIDIA GPU. Its target is 1080p Low at 60 FPS with upscaling, within a system that also meets the remaining requirements.

Does WARDOGS require an SSD?

The current storage entry lists 50 GB of available space without an explicit SSD requirement. That does not establish a particular loading time on every drive.

Is there a confirmed WARDOGS laptop FPS table?

This guide has no validated laptop benchmark table. Compare the exact mobile CPU/GPU and test your system instead of treating a desktop specification as an FPS guarantee.
