WARDOGS Weapon Tier List: The TTK Model

A tier list built from recorded Closed Beta weapon stats — damage and rate of fire joined into time-to-kill, re-run at close, medium and long range, and set beside the price every purchase actually competes with. Model figures, not play-test verdicts.

QUICK ANSWER

The current answer

On recorded time to kill the FAL, SVD and BMR-308 lead the model, and the free Bushmaster M17S outranks five rifles you would pay up to $3,200 for. Every tier letter here is modelled from test-build damage and rate-of-fire figures — not official, not play-tested — and cost is the axis that can overrule it.

The model

How the tier list is built

WARDOGS never publishes weapon stats, so this ranking starts from figures recorded first-hand in the August Closed Beta: per-weapon rate of fire and per-calibre base damage. Twenty of the twenty-five weapons in that recording carry both numbers. The remaining five are missing a figure and stay unranked rather than being guessed into a letter.

Shots to kill is 100 health divided by damage, rounded up; time to kill is the firing intervals between those shots, printed in milliseconds. The 100-health baseline is hypothetical — no player health value has been published — so every TTK figure is really a ratio wearing the units of a millisecond. It compares weapons honestly, and it will not match a stopwatch.

Tier S

S — fastest across the bands

Three weapons lead the model in every range band. The FAL pairs battle-rifle damage with an unusually high rate of fire; the SVD and BMR-308 trade a little speed for reach. All three are expensive, and all three feed the Recon or Assault tracks.

Tier A

A — competitive, range-dependent

Six weapons hold their own at close and medium range and fall away at long range. This is where the assault-rifle core sits, including the free Bushmaster M17S — identical model figures to the A-91 and KH-2002 at zero cost.

Tier B

B — viable, less forgiving

Viable picks whose modelled performance drops with range or requires a longer burst. The M249 SAW is the interesting row: strongest close-range LMG figure in the set at mid price.

Tier C

C — niche on this model

Slow on shots-to-kill arithmetic — which is precisely the wrong yardstick for a bolt-action rifle bought for the one shot it does not have to repeat, and for sidearms carried in a second slot. Read the tier letter as a statement about the model, not the weapon.

Unranked — missing a core figure

Five recorded weapons lack a damage or rate-of-fire figure. They stay out of the letters rather than being guessed in.

Model assumptions

What the range bands assume

A weapon does not land every shot at 200 metres, so each band re-runs the same arithmetic at an assumed hit rate, held constant within an archetype so the comparison stays like-for-like. The hit rates are the largest assumption on this page; replacing them with measured play-test figures is the single biggest improvement available.

Cost meets the model

What a rank actually costs

In WARDOGS every purchase competes for the same wallet, so a ranking that cannot see price is not finished. Put the tier rank beside the price tag and ask one question: could you have paid less and done better? A weapon is on the frontier when nothing cheaper in the table outranks it — five of the twelve priced and ranked weapons survive that test.

The line that does the most work is the free one. The Bushmaster M17S is the faction recruit rifle, it costs nothing, and on this model it outranks five weapons you would pay up to $3,200 for. One caveat the table cannot hold: its vendor tile in the test build said it cannot equip attachments, and attachments are on the model's own list of things it does not know about. A paid rifle you can build on is not competing with a free one on rank alone.

The economy

Why cost can overrule the ranking

You open your account with $10,000 and buy your kit out of that balance, and the balance does not refill when you die — cash persists from match to match, so a loss is a real loss. Spend it all on the best rifle and you have no armour, no utility, and no way to reach the Control Zone.

So the real question is best weapon per dollar, and beneath that, what the whole build costs. A rifle that is 90% as good for half the price is not the second-best choice — it is usually the correct one, because the money it frees buys the rest of your kit and survives a bad streak. The best-weapons guide covers the full cash loop, and the vehicles page extends the same wallet to the vendor's other counter.

Honest limits

What the model does not know

  • Armour, helmets and durability — every figure is against an unarmoured target
  • Hit-location multipliers, which is why bolt-actions and sidearms read so poorly here
  • Penetration and ammunition types
  • Range falloff, drag and bullet travel
  • Recoil, spread and handling
  • Attachments and build parts — including the free rifle's attachment restriction
  • Magazine capacity and reload
  • Real player pick rate and actual cost efficiency at scale

Direct answers

Frequently asked questions

Is this WARDOGS tier list official?

No. BULKHEAD has published no weapon stats. The model runs on damage and rate-of-fire figures recorded in the August 2026 Closed Beta, and the tier letters are ours.

What is the best weapon in WARDOGS on this model?

The FAL leads the time-to-kill model at $6,500. The SVD and BMR-308 follow. On value the free Bushmaster M17S is the standout: mid-table rank, zero cost.

Why are sniper rifles ranked so low?

The model ranks shots-to-kill arithmetic, and a bolt-action bought for one decisive shot repeats it slowly. Hit-location multipliers are outside the model, so the low letter says more about the yardstick than the rifle.

Do these TTK numbers match the live game?

They compare weapons against each other; they are not stopwatch times. The health baseline is hypothetical, balance patches move stats, and the Early Access build may differ from the test builds.

Which weapons are missing from the tier list?

Five recorded weapons lack a damage or rate-of-fire figure — the GGX 17, M500, MP43, PKM and SKS — and stay unranked. Weapons never recorded at all are outside the set.
