The current answer
The announced September beta ended September 6 at 08:00 UTC. Steam Early Access is scheduled for September 10. An installed WARDOGS Playtest does not mean a public test is running. This page explains scheduled availability; it does not automatically test live servers.

Is there a public play window right now?
The September test began as Closed Beta 02, then became an Open Beta for its final stretch. That change widened entry; it did not remove the announced Sunday closing time. The next scheduled public release is the main game's Steam Early Access launch.
Before trying a repair, check which Steam Library entry you opened. WARDOGS Playtest and WARDOGS are separate applications. A test invitation, an old installation or a purchase receipt does not by itself show that the service for that application is currently accepting players.

- Early Access launch schedule Check the next opening date and regional launch information.
Choose the connection problem you actually see
| What you see | Check first | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Playtest installed, but no active test announced | The public access window | Wait for the next announced opening; reinstalling cannot reopen a closed test. |
| A maintenance or login incident is officially announced | The notice's date, affected service and follow-up | Follow the incident update before changing local settings. |
| The menu opens, but the server browser is empty | Selected region and whether the current build is open | During an open window, try the single-region check below. |
| 1147405308 after a queue or login attempt | The complete authentication message | Use the error-specific guide and preserve the time of the attempt. |
| WARDOGS closes or the entire PC restarts | Whether the application or Windows failed | Use crash troubleshooting; a blank server list does not explain a system restart. |
- Error 1147405308: authentication failed Separate a failed online login from access and client issues.
- Launch, loading and match crashes Choose the crash branch instead of repeating connection fixes.
Servers not showing up during an open play window
BULKHEAD's August Closed Beta known-issues post identified a server-browser filter problem: selecting multiple regions could hide every server. Selecting one region was the developer's workaround for that test. It is a useful reversible check if the same symptom returns, but it is not proof that the Early Access build has the same bug.
- Confirm an official opening notice applies to the Steam application you are running.
- Allow Steam to finish any queued game update, then open the game through its Library entry.
- In the server browser, select one region and refresh the list if that control is available.
- If the list remains empty, record the selected region, client name, local time and time zone before checking the latest announcement.
Where to check maintenance and report a connection issue
Use the latest dated developer announcement to decide whether there is a scheduled closure or a known service problem. A page titled 'resolved' from an earlier beta cannot establish today's status. Player reports can show that others share a symptom, but do not establish a global outage on their own.
If a public window is open and there is no matching notice, report the exact error, Steam application name, region, time zone and whether the failure occurred before or after reaching the server browser. Include the result of the single-region check when relevant. Account or purchase details belong in the support channel's private form, not a public discussion.
- WARDOGS announcements on Steam Look for the newest opening, maintenance or incident update.
- Team17 Player Support Use the general support portal if WARDOGS is not listed.
Direct answers
Frequently asked questions
Are WARDOGS servers down on September 9?
The announced public beta has ended, and Steam Early Access is scheduled for September 10. That is a closed public play window, rather than evidence of an unexpected outage. This page does not measure every server's live availability.
Why is WARDOGS Playtest still in my Steam Library?
The application can remain installed after a test ends. Its presence does not reopen the test or replace the main WARDOGS release. Match the application to the current official play window.
Can I fix an empty server browser?
During an announced open window, finish any update and try selecting one region. BULKHEAD documented that filter workaround for the August beta. Outside a public play window, changing the filter cannot make servers available.
Does a community-server preorder mean I can join now?
No. Reserving hosting and the game opening for public play are separate events. Use the current WARDOGS opening announcement and the host's own activation details.
